Meet Namita Sawant: Travel Expert & Author

Hi friends, I am Namita Sawant. By day, I am a corporate communication writer with over a decade of experience crafting professional narratives. By night, I am a fiction writer and the creator of Best of India Travels. My passion lies in bringing unique stories to life—whether through the intricate details of a travel itinerary or the palpable spark of a fictional character. Travel isn’t something I do occasionally for content — it’s genuinely how I spend most of my free time. I’ve stayed in the hotels I write about, taken the trains and taxis I mention, and figured out the costs the hard way so you don’t have to. If a post is on this site, it’s because I went there myself.

My Debut Novella: A Girl on the Run

In addition to my travel guides, I am the author of ‘A Girl on the Run’, a contemporary romance novella centered around self-discovery. After self-publishing and receiving a strong reception on Amazon, I was offered a traditional publishing deal, making the book available in both digital and paperback formats.

Whether you love stories about strong independent women or raw emotional journeys, I hope this book inspires you to find your own path.

About Best of India Travels

I founded Best of India Travels in 2012 to share honest, first-hand, and raw travel experiences. I don’t write about places I haven’t personally explored; instead, my goal is to give you the real picture—the challenges, the hidden gems, and the practical details.

Over the last 14+ years, my travels have taken me across the vast landscapes of India:

  • Luxury & Heritage: Exploring the majestic palaces and luxury desert stays of Rajasthan.
  • Solo & Budget Travel: Finding safe, solo-friendly stays and quiet beaches in Goa.
  • Road Trips & Treks: Navigating the winding mountain roads of Himachal Pradesh and weekend getaways around Mumbai & Pune.

Whether you are planning a family vacation or your first solo escape, you will find hundreds of destination reviews, hotel guides, and itineraries right here to help you travel with confidence.

New here? A good place to start is my Goa travel guide for women or my Himachal Pradesh family trip itinerary — both are reader favorites.
