A Day Trip To Srushti Farms At Shahapur, Thane, Maharashtra

Come winter, one-day picnics near Mumbai will become our favourite weekend plans. After exploring several weekend getaways near Mumbai and Pune, this time we chose Srushti Farms, Vasind, a popular farm resort near Mumbai located in Shahapur, Thane—approximately 50 km from our home.

Based on our previous experiences, we departed early at 6:30 AM to ensure we arrived in time for the 9 AM check-in time. With peaceful roads and minimal traffic, we reached Srushti Farms Shahapur in just about two hours. As with most trips, the day didn’t go exactly as planned—but that’s part of the fun of a spontaneous weekend picnic resort near Mumbai.

First Impressions of Srushti Farms, Vasind

As soon as we arrived, we were relieved to see ample parking space. After clearing the remaining balance at the reception, we entered the property—only to realise there wasn’t much guidance or signage on where to go or what to explore first. However, that soon turned into a pleasant surprise, as discovering the property at our own pace became part of the adventure.

What instantly stood out was the pleasant weather, calm surroundings, and greenery spread across the property. It felt like stepping away from city chaos into a relaxed countryside setting.

The nearest railway station to Srushti Farms Resort is Vasind Railway Station, which is just a five-minute drive from the resort—making it easily accessible even without a car.

Activity 1: Breakfast & Cricket – A Fun Start to Our Day at Srushti Farms

We kicked off the day with a hearty breakfast that gave us enough energy to head straight to the cricket turf. The breakfast spread included poha, upma, missal pav, and egg bhurji pav, offering both veg and non-veg options.

Post breakfast, it was time for cricket. The kids were especially excited, and we ended up having a lively, laughter-filled match together.

Activity 2: Pool Time & Water Slides at Srushti Farms

Next on the agenda was the pool and water slide area. Since the water slides open around 11 AM, we spent the first couple of hours swimming, relaxing, and simply enjoying the water.

Once the slides started, the energy levels shot up—especially for the kids. We easily spent another two hours enjoying the slides and water fun.

Activity 3: Group Games & Lunch

Srushti Farms also organised a few group games, and it was nice to see families actively participating. Winners received small gifts, which added a cheerful, competitive spirit to the day. We visited on a Saturday, so I’m not entirely sure if these games are conducted on weekdays.

By lunchtime, all the activity had worked up quite an appetite. The veg and non-veg buffet lunch was satisfying, with the chicken crispy being the clear standout—crispy, flavourful, and well-cooked.

Since we had opted for a room at an additional cost, we headed there after lunch for a one-hour power nap. It was the perfect break before resuming the day.

Activity 4: Indoor Games & Evening Snacks

Post rest, we explored the indoor games area and enjoyed a quick round of badminton. As evening set in, we were served high tea, which included mixed bhajiyas along with tea and coffee. Even though we weren’t very hungry, the snacks were comforting and made for a relaxed end to the day.

Final Verdict: Is Srushti Farms Worth Visiting?

Overall, Srushti Farms Shahapur offers a fun-filled experience for families and groups looking for a day trip near Mumbai or Thane. To be honest, I had expected the place to feel more connected to nature, considering it’s a farm resort. While that expectation wasn’t fully met, the spice garden was a pleasant element to explore.

If you’re looking for a relaxed day trip near Mumbai, Srushti Farms makes for a convenient and activity-filled escape.

That said, Srushti Farms is a good option for a one-day picnic with family and friends, especially if you’re looking for activities, water fun, and a break from city life.
