Peruchi Wadi ’s Chulivarchi Misal, if you’re heading to Nashik, this is an experience you shouldn’t miss. One of the most popular dishes in Nashik, this place has become increasingly famous over the past year. Known for serving the most authentic Misal thali, they describe their Misal as “चवदार! झणझणीत!” which means “tasty and spicy.”
Peruchi Wadi’s opening hours are from 08:30 to 16:00. We arrived at the restaurant at 4 pm, but the staff graciously served us steaming hot Misal Thali. Since it was raining, we also enjoyed hot kanda bhaji (onion fritters) and Peru (guava) ice cream, which was unique and absolutely delicious. I loved my visit to Peru Chi Wadi for two reasons: the yummy food and the visit to the Pakshyanchi Wadi (bird park).
Peruchi Wadi – Perfect picnic spot amidst guava farms
Built on a guava farm, this place is located approximately 35 km from Nashik Road railway station and 6.1 km from Gangapur Road. Peruchi Wadi is an ideal one-day picnic spot near Mumbai for family and friends. If you’re a Misal lover traveling with kids, this isn’t just a restaurant—it’s an amusement park! The bird park features amazing species of animals and birds. My little one was thrilled to visit the bird park and had a wonderful time.
Entry fees: Nil for the restaurant but bird park tickets need to be purchased.
Bird Park or Pakshyanchi wadi
The entry fee for the bird park is Rs. 100 for adults and Rs. 50 for kids. Although the restaurant closes at 4 pm, you can still visit the bird park, which is open until 7 pm. The highlights of the park are the variety of bird and animal species. They allow you to enter the bird zone and feed the cute birds right from your hands. My daughter loved the experience. She also got to pet a rabbit and was thrilled to be allowed to hold it in her hands.
We spotted a variety of birds here, including turkeys, hens, African guineafowl, European red Polish caps, silver pheasants, New Zealand fantails, and ducks. Although I was initially scared, I even held an iguana in my hand. Visiting the bird park was a wonderful experience. The staff was very cooperative, and ensured we had the best time in this natural paradise. We visited this place on a Monday, and thankfully, there was no crowd.
Other attractions of Peruchi Wadi
Nestled in nature, this place offers several selfie points and play areas for kids, complete with swings. Children can also enjoy boating, and there are plenty of gaming activities like virtual reality games, balloon shoots, and trampolines, allowing kids to spend a wonderful day without the need for gadgets.
In addition to Chulivarchi Misal, you can savor several guava-based delicacies. I particularly loved the guava ice cream, served with a dash of chili powder and salt, as well as the guava juice. Unfortunately, we couldn’t try the guava tea since the restaurant was nearing its closing time—maybe next time. But the food was absolutely delicious. At our request, they adjusted the spiciness of the Misal, so we could enjoy it without shedding any tears. 😉
This is a must-visit place if you’re in or around Nashik. We explored Sula Vineyards in the morning and visited Peruchi Wadi in the late afternoon, returning with lots of memories.
We stayed at Aria Resort and Spa in Nashik and oh what a luxurious stay it was. Read full review on the rooms and amenities. Also, stay tuned for my next blog, where I’ll share all about exploring Sula Vineyards in a day trip.
